Red light therapy (RLT)

More energy for you and your cells

Menu

Single session $45

(3) sessions $100

*Session maximum time 20 minutes

The length of each red-light therapy treatment session will vary depending on your goals, but each treatment usually takes between three and twenty minutes.

Typical red light therapy treatment plans look something like this:

  • Three sessions per week for two weeks

  • Two sessions each week until you achieve your goals

  • One session weekly to maintain your results

Advanced technology?   Yes.    Science fiction?   Nope.

Recharge your cells with Red Light Therapy. Just like plants use sunlight to heal and grow, our body is able to harness specific wavelengths of light and turn them into cellular energy. This, in turn, stimulates your body’s natural healing processes.

What is Red Light Therapy (RLT)

Red Light Therapy (RLT) or Photobiomodulation delivers a therapeutic dose of red and near-infrared light in an efficient full body treatment. When light is applied with the right wavelength, intensity, and duration, your body’s cells react by producing more energy. So instead of just having enough energy to get by, your cells get a boost that allows them to repair, replicate, and do their jobs. When all the different cells in your body all do their jobs really, really well, you get broad health benefits.

How It Works

Red light therapy is thought to work by acting on the “power plant” in your body’s cells called mitochondria. With more energy, other cells can do their work more efficiently, such as repairing skin, boosting new cell growth and enhancing skin rejuvenation. More specifically, certain cells absorb light wavelengths and are stimulated to work.

Penetration and Absorption

Near-infrared light, which falls within the range of 700 to 1200 nanometers on the electromagnetic spectrum, penetrates the skin more deeply than red light. This deeper penetration allows it to reach tissues and cells located further beneath the skin's surface.

Skin health benefits:

  • Stimulate collagen production, which gives skin its structure, strength and elasticity.

  • Increase fibroblast production, which makes collagen. Collagen is a component of connective tissue that builds skin.

  • Increase blood circulation to the tissue.

  • Reduce inflammation in cells.

Physical benefits:

  • improving muscle performance

  • restoration of joint motion

  • muscle relaxation and relief from spasms

  • relief of pain and inflammation associated with arthritis

  • increase circulation

  • adjunct to weight loss, combined with diet and exercise

  • decreased pain and inflammation

  • faster recovery and less soreness after exercise

  • faster recovery after injury

  • reduced fat and cardiometabolic risk factors

  • many clients report better sleep, reduced stress, improved mood

RLT in Summary

Overall, red light therapy offers a non-invasive, gentle approach to improving skin health and addressing various health concerns, making it appealing to individuals seeking natural and effective treatment options.

Skin Rejuvenation: Red light therapy stimulates the production of collagen, a protein essential for maintaining the skin's elasticity and firmness. This can lead to a reduction in wrinkles, fine lines, and overall improvement in skin texture.

Wound Healing: Red light therapy can enhance the body's natural healing processes by increasing blood flow to the affected area, promoting faster wound healing, and reducing inflammation.

Pain Relief: It has been suggested that red light therapy can help alleviate pain by reducing inflammation and stimulating the release of endorphins, the body's natural painkillers. This makes it a popular choice for managing chronic pain conditions such as arthritis and muscle soreness.

Reduced Acne: Red light therapy has been shown to have antimicrobial effects, making it effective in targeting the bacteria that cause acne. It also helps to reduce inflammation associated with acne breakouts, leading to clearer skin over time.

Improved Circulation: By increasing blood flow and promoting the formation of new capillaries, red light therapy enhances circulation, fostering the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to tissues while aiding in the removal of metabolic waste products. This improved circulation not only supports the healing process but also contributes to better skin tone, vitality, and relief from pain.

Hair Growth: Some studies suggest that red light therapy may stimulate hair growth by increasing blood flow to the scalp and promoting the proliferation of hair follicles.

Cellular Effects: Like red light therapy, near-infrared light is absorbed by the mitochondria within cells. Once absorbed, it stimulates various cellular processes, including the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which is the primary energy source for cellular activities.

Enhanced Cellular Function: By increasing ATP production, near-infrared light enhances cellular metabolism and promotes tissue repair and regeneration. This can accelerate healing, reduce inflammation, and alleviate pain.

Anti-Inflammatory Effects: Near-infrared light therapy helps to reduce inflammation by modulating inflammatory pathways and promoting the release of anti-inflammatory molecules. This can be beneficial for treating injuries and chronic inflammatory conditions.
